Hi guys,
Trying to do some blacktop patching. I have a blacktop parking lot with one section of it covering a concrete slab. The blacktop is about 1.5 inches thk over the slab, and 5″ elsewhere. Trouble is, despite having the blacktop re-done last year, there is a crack in it along the edge of where the concrete is. I know that this is not a good design, because the blacktop settles but the slab doesn’t, but can not remove the slab (basement goes under it). I decided that maybe filling the crack with a patching material before winter is good idea.
The crack varies from 1/8″ wide to about 3/8″ wide. Trouble is, everywhere I look, the patching products are latex based. Whatever happened to the good old products with skulls etc. on the container. I don’t like doing a job over and over. What is the best product for this application. Getting 3-4 years out of it would be a great improvement. Any ideas?
