Hello to all
I am putting metal roofing over 1×3 furring strips.
The roof has been stripped and ice &snow underlayment put over the entire roof, 3 overlapping layers in the valleys.
Do I need solid blocking under the W metal valley or are the 24″OC
1×3 furring strips enough support for the valley?

You'll want to run diagonal right under where the edge of the valley lies. Otherwise, when ice backs up in the valley, it will deform the metal down under the roof metal, creating a gap that will let the ice flow thataway.
Three plies???!!!
Had a hard time getting it in without wrinkling, huh?

How about foam closure strips and butyl sealant tape?
Are they necessary and where?
Should I be trying for a totally waterproof seal in the valley?

Thanks in advance.
