   I was able to access the wall cavities through the attic because the attic floor was ballooned and the top wall plate was above the attic joists. I don't know what a "high speed, low drag" contractor is but the fdree loaner machine from Home Depot worked well to dense pack the cells in 20' high walls. (I pulled off some siding in one area to inspect it.) I think the holes in the top plates would be an s.o.b. to cut and would weaken the plate substantially - since they would have to be 2" min. for a 1 1/2" hose - and I used a 2 1/2" hose (though will experiment with a 1 1/2" next time).

   If you can't access bays through attic, can you remove and put back a redwood clapboard? Can you remove a baseboard and core through plaster behind baseboard?

   I have a 1930's home 1 1/2 story. Plaster walls. Can I blow in cels insulation by drilling access holes through the wall top plates? Will that be a big enough hole? 2x4 wall framing. I have or can get access to the top plates quite easily. I know that I dont have any firestops in the walls. I want to avoid putting access holes through the plaster or redwood siding. Also, do I need a high speed, low drag insulation contractor to do it or is it something I can handle during some slow winter days? Thanks in advance for any advice.
