boiler install over wood flooring
Does anyone here have the code reference regarding the requirements for installing a hot water boiler over existing plywood subfloor? Unable to locate boiler in crawlspace! What height airspace is required, etc. In advance, thanks

Well, first you should check the mfgr's specifications for clearances, etc. But unless the boiler is speced for installation on a wood floor, you're probably going to have to install some sort of tile or firebrick, or get a fireproof pad to go under the unit. In general, just a metal sheet won't do it.
The boiler installation manual should list the minimum clearances to combustibles and the specs for intake air and venting. You will also need a drain for the pressure relief valve and for service. Consider a full pan (like a shower stall) -- you don't want 20 gallons of hot water on that plywood floor...
