Why haven’t I done this sooner. Although I developed a good working relationship with the Skil Saw Magnesium Framers, after picking up a new Bosch circular framing saw the difference is amazing. The balance is great, there is a hook to set the saw on on a 2 x, instead of looking for a place to balance your saw. The direct connect hookup is also a nice solid deal.
I stopped eating my goverment cheese and parked the Yugo.

I like my Porter Cable 423 MAG saw, only 9.6 lbs and I also like the long attached cord. There are times when there is an outlet right where I'm working and I don't have to get out the extension cords.

Good point on the weight factor. The Bosch is a bit heavier, it just has a nice balance and it's nice to know somebody was finally listening and incorporated some quality design ideas into a tool, not just some hokey idea the guy in accounting had.
Re: hokey. Are you referring to the PC's chimney?
Totally stoked on the direct connect myself. I did manage to lose (and later find) the front bolt holding the table on - the saw was being worked hard up and down a 12 pitch for many days cutting long custom shims (anyone curious?), but I didn't notice it leave until I went to put a Matsu$%#*u blade on for some finish work...SIGN IT UP FOR THE PROVANTAGE! They are the best and fix everything everytime!

well ya, what's that about?
Trying to correct the craziness! Notice the rainbow; more current pics are in the van. Can't put polyiso and metal on it like it was!
