Anyone else read the mention in the current FHB about Bosch cancelling introduction of the new jigsaw to the US market? Since when have professionals and serious amateurs been unwilling to pay a little more for a saw that weighs less, cuts faster, and ejects blades like an Uzi? It’s hard to buy things that AREN’T aero style these days – so I don’t buy that point either. Lastly – has anyone else heard that the saw was ACTUALLY withdrawn because it could not get UL approval in 120V form? Sounds a little suspicious to me.

Dave,
I talked to some Bosch reps at a local homeshow last weekend. They told me that they did not receive a U.L. rating because it was overheating. I guess they are going to have to alter the design a bit. They don't expect the revised model to be out until at least the fall. I'm looking forward to it. It sounds like an awesome tool.
*Kyle, that makes some sense - maybe they were experiencing a lag in current model sales while people waited for the new one to come out, and issued the "withdrawal" to get folks back buying. Thanks for the follow-up. More waiting I guess. Hopefully they'll have a barrel grip version. Dave
