I’m wondering if anybody has used the Bonsal Shower Pan. As amateurs, we don’t want to build our own shower pan, and thought this would be a good way to get a tiled shower floor. Do they leak? Are there any installation issues? Any maintenance issues? Thanks for any info you might have.

They are fine. Very pricey even on stock sizes. Custom sizes are available, but at a premium price. No they don't leak.
Buy it first, then build around it. They are impossible to retro-fit into an existing shower.
They don't come with curbs, so you will have to buy their curbs, and while you are at it, their jambs. You could easily spend up to $500-800 for the whole set up. Then you have to tile it.
Me, I think is a horid waste of money. Building the pan is just not that big of a deal if you follow the standard instructions.

Boris, did you know that Schluter now has some foam pans? They're meant to work with Kerdi and Kerdi-Drain for curbless showers. The tech rep says the advantages are that you only need a 2" recess in a slab, rather than trying to slope one, and that you can install the pan and tile the same day--no waiting for the pre-slope to cure, for example. Haven't priced it yet.
