These pics are of my BIL’s Mcmansion. Have you ever trussed out a roof this “fun”?
Turret on front is stick framed and has a hip intersecting it at 45º to the main roof. I got to stick frame that over thanksgiving. Scratched my head for about half a day before it became clear!!
garage and another turret on the back are sticks, but the rest are trusses.
There are at LEAST 120 trusses here and I could not find two alike!! Except for the piggy back ridge pieces on the biggest part.
Basement is 10′ , first floor is 10′, second floor is only 9′.
That is Cayuga Lake in the background. about a half a mile north of FIL’s place and the Weaverfest site.
Yes that is a hummer 2, apparently the peach harvest was good last year.
Let me know if these are to big and I will crop/depixelize them.
>>>they were!!<<<

MrT. Your camera determines the size/resoultiuon of the images, and there is probably a way to choose between resolutions.
FWIW, I generally shoot at the highest resolution possible becuase I don't know what end use I might make of the images - if I know I'm just going to posting them on the web or using them in a small size I'll choose a smaller reslotion - or if I need to get a lot of images on my memory card._______________________
10 .... I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful.

Looks like the kind of stuff I do every day. Since I've been around a while, they don't give me anything EASY to work on anymore. Although the one you show there is a pretty large one.
I'm curious - Were all the trusses right? On a house that large, ther's plenty of room for error. And truss companies can make plenty of 'em.
If we weren't meant to eat animals, why are they made of meat?
BIL & FIL are doing alot of the work there, they have not told me about any mistakes. butthat doesn't mean there are not any. DIYers ya know!
I just help when I can and try to give them good advice when they ask or will listen.
They asked for some input on the kitchen.
Very elaborate.
They said all the cabs they looked at were to expensive!!??
I asked about the budget.
Well we started with 50 k but....
I half expected the to say tha it would probably cost more but instead they are try to spend in the 25-30 k range.
How many people with a house like this spend twicw as much on thier vehicle (H-2) than thier kitchen??
And he telecommutes unless he is traveling!!!
Go figure.

Sometimes I got to work on the same house as a particular carpenter. A good carpenter he got assigned the complicated, over designed, McMansions. He had a phrase: There are six basic types of roofs: gable, hip, mansard, shed, flat and cluster f-ck. Why do I always get the last type. At which point he would spit, throw down the plans and get to work.
I always liked his cynical attitude.
Then we would get along great.
as a child my mom called me "Bones" cause I was always skinny(Not any more!)
But as I got older I modeled my attitude after "Bones" McCoy the doc on star trek.
Cynicism just seems to fit most every occasion in one way or another!

Thought I'd reply to you, to make it easier for you to find.Everybody's for democracy in principle. It's only in practice that the thing gives rise to stiff objections.
