Bostitch F21PL combo nailer- good or no?
Am thinking about using the Hurriquake nails made by Bostitch, and noticed they had a framing nailer that with a different head becomes a positive placement nailer. The current model is F21PL, but in reading around there seemed to be an N88 model that got mixed reviews.
Any thoughts on the F21PL? On Bostitch nail guns in general?

Paul-
I believe the model I have is the N88, so I am not sure about the other model, but it has been excellent.
In fact, it is the lightest of mainstream framing nailers (if only by an ounce to over a pound or two).
I have never had any problems with it, but with the positive placement head you should only load one clip at a time or it will jam, as per instructions.
Otherwise, I also have the 18 gauge and the 15. Two things stand out about those guns also, they are among the only ones that have rubber heads.
So I like the Bostitch guns, but I hated the 23 gauge. That was crap.
Hope this helps.

PaukCP,
I also have the N88-MCN and have been very happy with it. It will drive 3 1/4" x .131 nails through Microlams without any trouble and changing to the positive placement nose is very simple. When I first got a couple of years ago the plastic collated nails were hard to find, but now they are fairly common. I also like the range of nails it shoots, i've used it to drive 2 3/8 x .113 galv. ring shanks for siding in a pinch.
