*Jonnie:Got a web link to a pic or something?Do you live close to me? Can I borrow it? ;^)
*good on ya johnnie..does it have square & plumb ?
*I'm not familiar with that model. What does it do? You make it sound like you got a real good deal... Did they throw in the glasses and the video tape? Keep us posted.fv
*what this unit is, is a non visible contruction elevation level with the remote sensor. accuracy of 3/32 in 100 feet. The local survey supply company had it as a lease unit. Got the level $450, tripod $50, rod $30 ( metal 16 foot) tax- total $577.00 . Tool crib has the same unit under the CST name for $899.99. It does not shoot plumb or square. Yesterday I shot 320 feet( one way) and compared it with the company hi dollar theolite and was within 1/4 inch.
*johnnie, johnnie, johnnie... what am i gonna do wit ya ?sell it to a survey or excavation company.. does it have an audible signal ?...you have a great instrument with limited application...it has an accuracy you may never need..it doesn't have a visible beam so you need the receiver to use it..it doesn't give you plumb and square.. i thought you were looking for something to help you in home construction and remodeling..?..someone in your day-to-day contacts could really use that .. but you'd be better off with either a rotator or a 3 or 5 beam laser... VISIBLE..b but hey, whadda i no ?
*Tell him Mike!Hey, what are you doing home?blue
*no.... what are you doin home ?i'm workin... in the office..watchin the snow fall..as i work on my designs....and resisting the urge to say things i might regret.
*The type of instrument that Jonnie has is _great_ for site work such as setting footer grade, drain pipe fall, installing pools, setting up brick/block story poles, septic installs, etc, etc. , especially if it auto-levels. A stationary lazer takes forever for some of these tasks. With a spinning lazer, your guy can practically be running around the site checking grade. Maybe not so good for general carpentry and layout though. I wonder if there is a lazer that does it all - spins, rotates, plumb, square?
*I'm sick. Caught a cold and fever.Any excuse to skip work is a good one..blue
*I know Mike, but 99% of my work duty is shooting elevations. Boss says he give me $25 a day to use it. It will always be in my truck only and I do not have to take the idiots with me to shoot grade. So it cheaper for boss and I get a cheap lazer.
*David White 2150 laser....Spin...stop....plumb....auto level....set on angled plane for slope....Nice tool except my grader guy needs even better....Spectra Physics.near the laser stream,aj
*johnnie .. i love it when a plan comes together... good work !
