The floors on the first floor of my house are pretty bouncy. It’s enough that the CD player will skip and the glassware will rattle in the china cabinet if one is not treading lightly. The framing is 2×10’s at 16″ oc over a crawl space with 13′ to 15′ spans.
I am considering installing an intermediate beam, but am none too enthusiastic about doing concrete and block work in a crawl space. Any suggestions on stiffening the floors would be appreciated.

Screw a 2x4 along the center of the joists. Two 3" screws per joist.
