Sorry if this message appears twice. I thought I was computer-literate until I hit ‘F5’ after I wrote this the first time. Disappeared. What is F5?
Anyway, I think the 80’s and 90’s will be marked by its brick-front homes with siding on all other sides (or another region’s equivalent of expensive materials on the front and cheap materials everywhere else). I like siding just fine, but are our ego’s so fragile that we have to try to fool others into thinking our house is something that it isn’t? I realize that homes are a collective comedy of things like that (faux this and that, much of which I use, too). But this brick-front thing takes it too far (yet is well-received by the general public). The worst part is that it only works in the magazine ad. Approach the home from any other angle and the attempt to fool you fails. That’s all.
