I am giving the front of my house a face-lift and have a question regarding brick veneering and the footing required. I am in a typical California home with a concrete slab foundation. The veneer will be low (approx 2′) and there will also be a bump out in the footing for a new box bay window. The question… does the new footing for the above mentioned veneer and window need to be attached physically to the existing slab and if so how, or can I just pour right up to it.
Thanks,
Ken-
