Bricks overhang foundation by half
Hi,
This is my first post.
While parging the foundation (poured concrete) of my house, I noticed that the bricks on the chimney hang over the foundation by a 1/2 brick on one end and 2/3 of a brick on the other end. Total length is 62 inches.
If it wasn’t standing since 1961, this would look alarming. This brick chimney, two stories high, is barely sitting on nothing at all.
How do I proceed? Should I put a piece of steel angle under it in case someday it should decide to sit? Should I just ignore it because its been fine for so long?

Photo?
No good photo. I don't have the technology. Here is one anyway that was stored on my computer. Can't see much, just how thick the parging was.
Do you know anything about the inner structure of the chimney? Is it stacked cement block with brick veneer, or all brick?
Somebody who knows more about masonry than I do will probably be along soon, but I agree with you that it's at least visually disturbing the way it is.
BTW, welcome to BT! That looks like a nice house.
