I am building a custom retirement home. I wish to build a custom door and matching transom. My rough openings are 6.0 X 14.0 I wish the door to be glass measuring 4.0 X 8.0 with side lites… I have not found detailed information re difficulty or tools needed. Thank you. Lois M.

Lois what your talking about if I understand you is a major under taking. I don't know what your skill level is or how well your work is before tackling this one. Also what the deal with your opening? Am I missing something?
*Hi Bill,Looks to me like someone has dreamed up a $20,000 entry and wants to build it for 750 bucks.Hoping that you're busyGabe
*No recoving from a little hospital stay and going crazy sitting around
*LOIS,You will need every tool in the book (the "real" ones, not the home-owner specials) and years of skill to build such a door unit. But it can be done.Good luck,Ed. Williams
