For building a garage as an extension off of a house, would I be better off using 12 D gal. nails or 12 D gas and wax. I understand it is outside but at the same time it isn’t and gas and wax nails would save me money. Would I be safe from the nails rusting and rotting away if I used the gas and wax?

Is gas and wax Rhode Island slang?
for what?
got me...
i never heard he phrase before
We need them down here in south Florida. I don;t know if stores even carry brights here.
what the heck is gas and wax?? or brights? perhaps you should hire a contractor lol
My guess is he is calling a coated nail "gas and wax".
Brights means a bright common nail. (uncoated)
Galv = galvanized
I can get all 3 in coils for my gun, galv and coated being the most common.
I usually buy galvanized for the same reason as "Florida" brings up. They last longer here although I think coated have a higher pull out strength.
we use galvies here - esp when around any kind of PT lumber.
