I’m building a bulkhead door, similar to the one shown in FH#171. I’m using T&G 1×6 cedar boards, I’m wondering if there is some way to seal the seams where the T&G meet. The bulkhead slopes at about a 4 pitch. I intend to paint the door, but I’m not sure that will seal it. Should I be concerned? Any ideas?

I built something similar and glued them together with Gorilla glue. Got a little ooze and cut it off the next day.
There is a little leaking, some from the joints and some through knot holes.
You could try Azek, but it might get heavy.
thanks! some input is better than none. I think it's a tough subject, and maybe not a good design.ciao
you could build it out of plywood with a raised lip and wrap it in metal.
Did one this winter and it came out great and should last a long time.
