Hi,
Is there a way to transition a bullnose corner bead to a straight corner so the baseboards look right. I know they make transition corner pieces but I was wondering is there a DIY method?

Your best bet is to use the transition pieces. I've seen the trim guys just miter the baseboard and fill the gap with caulking, and I've seen them cut a little piece of trim to 'forty five' it across the angle, but nothing beats using the bullnose adapters. Just make sure when you install them they are as best to perfect level and square to the floor to get a nice surface to mount your trim.
What type of bullnose are they, paper, plastic .....?
Plastic. I only need to do 2 pieces. I'll check at the big box, see if they have the transitions.
Thanks,
Mike
A real drywall supplier would have them for sure. Make sure you get the proper transition for the radius bullnose you have. Same brand would be good, they mate up at the joint.A great place for Information, Comraderie, and a sucker punch.

Our bullnose are to the floor and the corner is three pieces 22 1/2 degree cuts. It looks good when caulked and painted. Sorry...no pic.
