What are you paying your sales people? Wages, benifits, company vehicle or allowance towards their vehicle. Commision, is it paid on gross-sales or profits? What percentage is fair?
How about salary and a percentage? Is that usual?
Is there a book with all of this info in it? I need it now before the season gets to hot. Any and all info will be appreciated, Thanks….Tom

The answer to all your questions is......depends! If you are selling a reuseable product in a market that is currently getting sales then a comission could work. Usually a draw against a comission. new product in a new territory would be a salary & benefits ( car, ins etc) situation. Like I said, it depends on a lot of things. Comissions are paid on gross sales. Bonuses are sometime a % of the gross profit ( encourages sales people to look at the profit not the sales for no profit) along with a salary. There is no "book" . You get what you pay for. you want experience and contacts you will pay for it. You want to go cheap and hire someone with no experience and contacts in the industry you can look forward to a long growth curve. wher you are also make a difference too in how much and how a salesman gets paid
