Buying round drywall sanding gear
I’m going to order the new round drywall sanding disk setup that was reviewed in the last FHB magazine.

My question is this:
What sandpaper grit should I get? They don’t sell a variety pack, just packs of 25 pieces of each grit from 80 to 240. At $21 a pack, I’d like to preferably buy just one, but I’ll get two if it’s really necessary.

Just one, 150 grit. A 120 or so would be faster for first sanding.
Why don't you contact them and ask why they dont have assorted packs?

paul, a little depends on what you use for your last coats. Plus 3 is softer, don't need too coarse a paper or you'll end up with scratches. Reg. bucket mud is harder, topping a bit softer. Give 'em a call and see what they recommend for the various products.

Quittin' Time
I have several of those sanders. They are wonderful. I stock two grits. 100 & 150.
As you say, the 100 is good for initial knockdown of harder compounds. The 150 is all you will need if you use "Plus Three" as your topcoat. ( and why would you use anything else???)
I use 150 about 90% of the time.
I'd buy at least two....100 and 150 grits....you'll be kicking yourself the day you've got the tool, but not the grit.
