I've installed hundreds of them with no problems.

We use LCN products exclusively at the Medical Center I work at. In my opinion, there is no equal to their cast iron closers.
Great customer support also.
not the closers but I remember thier Door hold-opens gave wrong dimensions in their installation instructions. That was a while ago, they may have fixed the problem.
The new closer packages are easier to install than before. They have sticky templates that are fool proof. I can have a new apprentice installing them in ten minutes. If you have a old one and just need measurements you can go to http://www.lcnclosers.com to get them.
LCN makes a very good closer. One thing to watch out for is the way they locate the mounting holes. The dimension from the top might be from the face of the stop. The one from the side may be from the center line of the hinges.
If you aren't careful your closer is now 5/8" out of position. Not the end of the world, but it can be aggravating...buic
