anyone out there willing to share some good cabinet sources? i’m looking for some alternatives to my local choices here in southwest montana. i’m looking for a semi custom line or possibly factory direct or 2nds in the northwest area. i build semi custom specs. i don’t have the time to build the cabinets myself, nor do i want to pay 20,000 for kithen cabinets. ilove fir cabinets but have not found a manufacturer that offers a fir cabinet. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was disgusted with the idea of paying $10,000 to $12,000 for a kitchen full of cabinets that are nothing but a bunch of cardboard. I'm making my own in the sizes I want, features I want, and trim details I want for 1/4 that price. It does eat up some time though.
*thanks for the reply mark. if i do end up building the cabinets in this house i'm going to use some of the ideas in joseph lanza's article "building kitchen cabinets on site"(issue# 126 nov. 99). he has some ideas that are worth taking a look at, especially for saving time. i may have scherrs make the drawer boxes and cvg fir doors then build the cabinets on site similar to lanza's technique. there is no doubt that would be the most bang for the buck but things can get pretty hectic at that stage of the building process and i'm just looking for some alternatives. thanks

Hey will build em for you.
We do custom cabinets only, price is not cheap.
Most everthing we do is new, old, or sinker cypress.
I think you would like the look

*They're looking for cheap. Can't even imagine how bad factory 'seconds' are.
*check cab.parts.com. They sell the boxes, and then other souirces sell the doors and drawer front. Check under cabinetmaker.com. they are based in clorodo
*Adrian,I think you might have an excellent opportunity to unload some of your E-cabinetry seconds....clean out your old stock lurking on your that hard drive.
*Adrian, it's about time you give us an up-date on your E-cabinetry business. Once you've established a track record of losses, successful IPO, etc., I want to use it as a model for my E-modeling business plan.Regards, Steve
*Well, at this point, the money is flowing like water. R & D eats up a lot of resources (we like the imported beer). Shipping costs are high (do you know what it costs to mail a hard drive?). Training production staff is a nightmare; every screwed up cabinet means a little less disk space (a firesale on seconds is actually a pretty good idea.) Basically, the financial picture looks pretty bleak, and profits are a pipedream. BUT THE INVESTORS ARE LINING UP! We're the new Amazon.com,almost...they're still losing money faster than us, but we're hungry. INVEST NOW! Spam is ON THE WAY!
*josh's idea is the one I would try in your position. I have had some good luck ordering doors ( mostly oak) both in price and quality. Haven't much experience in buying boxes but seems a good choice between full custom and factory cabinets. Skip
