CAD operator

segundo | Posted in Help/Work Wanted on September 20, 2006 01:48am

My boss is looking to hire a contract CAD operator to do shop drawings for a project. It seems like a simple job but I am too busy plus I am still a rookie at CAD and we don’t have any time left.

This could be a great side gig for the right person (if you can work from my very rough sketches) as we bid lots of these jobs that require shop drawings, let me know if you are interested.

The job is mechanical type drawings of parts that make up a reinforcement for a steel tower and another platform mounted on a pile offshore with lights on them for the coast guard. Its not high security or anything, just navigation markers in desolate places.

    Hey segundo,

I'm a CAD operator in Chicago doing commercial and retail interior fixture design.

If I could view one of your sketches and see what you need drawing wise so I know what I"m getting into and the scope and type of work you need I'd be  interested in giving you a quote on the work. I would need to see an example of one of your "sketches" and get an idea of how many drawings of what type you would need. If I had that info I would get a feel for about how long it would take to make the necessary drawings and then be able to give you a $ number.

A bit of a heads up on this. Most drawings don't come out perfect on the first try, especially with a brand new customer. We would have to exchange faxes, or emails, or talk on phone and do some revisions to get the drawings "just the way you want them". This is no big deal and can be quickly and easily dealt with.

Give me an email or a post here and we can get in touch and see if we can work something out.

    Have a good evening,

    Cork in Chicago

PS- I'm fast cause I'm good. No brag just fact.

I replied but for some reason you didn't get it.

I've now replied to the original email address that was on the email I got from you, and I've re-emailed to the address listed in the email.

I should be online here at BT by about 7:00pm CST tomorrow night after work.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
