Long time lurker. I am a small 2 man kitchen and bathroom remodeler in the Seattle area. I am looking for any feedback on CAD Pro. Or can anybody point me in a direction for a user friendly program
Thanks
Frank

Theres folks here that use about everything. Chief, Softplan, Vector, Sketchup, older renditions of CAD this and that. You'll get much better answers if you give people a feel for what your specific needs are and how you envision using it.
I don't have experience with much of the above other than Sketchup, and I landed on that only a few months ago. Its extremely user friendly, but it's not CAD, so if what you want is CAD that one is out.

Thanks for the quick response. What I am looking for is a way to layout a kitchen orbathroom to give my clients an idea at what we are putting together.
Should I be looking at something other than a CAD based program.
Thanks
Frank
Go to the Sketchup site and follow the links that take you to work done by users showing kitchen cabinetry. There is a lot of it.
If you want a true cad program, and all you plan to do is 2d drawings, AutoSketch by AutoCad is hard to beat at about $125. It is basically an electronic drafting table ... if you can draw your idea with pencil and paper, this is the computer version.

I've been trying a program called 'ecabinet system'. It isn't a CAD program, per se, but it is very powerful.
It's really great, as far as I have been able to use it. there is a steep learning curve, so beware. Check it out at

Check out Autosketch. It's a watered down version of Autocad by the same Manuf. It's really user friendly and dirt cheap. Also, it will create file types that Autocad users can open. Good luck. Greg

If you are looking for a powerful program to design kitchens with I would suggest using the 20/20 design program. Of course I don't know what your budget is or how you intend to use the software. It costs about $4K to buy with yearly maintainence of about $400.
We have a showroom and do all of our design work in house so the program is a necessity for us. Most of the k & B shops in the country use this program.
It is a great program for producing very detailed layouts, elevations, and 3d perspectives. Of course if you only need to do some cursory drawings, you would be spending way too much money by buying the 20/20 program.
Gook luck
