I am looking for CAD software to assist in the design of a new house I am working on. Can anyone recommend software that is affordable and easy to use? Also must allow me to not only draw and dimension the layout but also show individual framing members. 3D capability is not required.

Turbo cad........I've designed and built total homes, decks, and dog houses using it.......think I paid just a couple bucks on e-bay (version 8) is what I've got, but there are newer versions.

Thanks, jj. Ive also heard of a free product called Sketchup and a Broderbund product. Anyone have experience with either of these?

Ben,
FWIW this is probably in the top 3 most commonly answered questions here and has been debated six ways to Sunday. If you do a search here under CAD you'll find several threads where the more experienced users of all the various packages have weighed in on the pros and cons of all from the cheapest to the priciest.
