I used Mozilla Sunbird, it works well for me.
Aha, Sunbird is exactly what I am looking for. Many thanksNobody gets in to see the wizard...not nobody...not no how!
I refuse to worship at the altar of Outlook, so I use various different programs for various functions.
MS Outlook

Yahoo widgets...downloaded little gizmo that sits at the side of the screen...kinda cool and it's useful. It sits at the side almost invisible until you move the mouse over the tab and it pops out with a little calendar showing day/date. Useful but I wouldn't pay for it.
I set up a kitchen computer that acts as the calender and reminder center. The calender is Outlook, but with some extra software I purchased.
Desktop calender and wallpaper software:
I have the desktop changing family photo's every 30 seconds, so I'm usually giving it at least a glance. On top of that, I have another program that displays all the appointments for the next week. So every time I check the latest photo, I also get to take a quick glance at what's happening later today as well as for the rest of the week.
Reminder music and cell phone text message:
Outlook can only use .WAV files for this, MP3 doesn't work. I've got a bunch of 10 to 30 second music clips I use for my side work. I change the standard Outlook "reminder.wav" to Peekaboo by DEVO or Call Me by Blondie. The speakers are set loud so i hear it from the garage... much to the annoyance of my wife.
I also have another software add on that will send out an extra reminder via email or text message if i don't dismiss the Outlook reminder within 5 minutes or so (whatever I set). That means if I'm at the hardware store and have forgotten about the oddball pickup time for the kids, my Phone rings with a text from the reminder software.
This may not be what you are looking for, but it's a solution for my world.

MS Outlook.
Code 2 Public folders allows us to access Outlook on different PCs throughout th ehome network. Need OL 2007 to get the reminder to work using Code 2 though.
That's cool idea John, I do want it to be accessible by multiple people/pcsNobody gets in to see the wizard...not nobody...not no how!
they don't tell you about needing OL 2007 for the Reminders to work in folders other than the parent folders (Calednar, Task, etc) but the upgrade was worth it. Then there was the surprise that OL 2007 is only licenesed for 2 PCs (one Desktop and a Laptop) so I'm wrestling with buying another copy of OL 2007. I should've bought the student version again but those brain cells were dormant during this last purchase. The price for Code 2 was about $150 IIRC and it was worth it. When the laptop is away from the network it still carries the calendar & it updates when it's reconnected to the network.
Amazon has a decent price on the standalone OL 2007. I don't know how many PCs it's legal to instal on though.

Well I have Outlook 2002 but I don't use it. I see it has a calendar so I will look at it and see if it will work. I just want simple type operation that will remind me of stuff. We have a calendar by the back door that we use but we are at the computer off an on all day and that would be handy to have a calendar and reminder on screen.Nobody gets in to see the wizard...not nobody...not no how!
the reminders in older versions of OL (prior to 2003) will only work on the Calendar on the PC that the data is loaded on. It won't support the Reminders that you want to set in the Calendar that will reside in teh Code2 Public Folder. You can see the calendar int he older versions of OL but the reminders will not work. All else should be good.
You can set up a new folder in the Code2 Public folders for your e-mail and then set up a rule at the PC where you recieve the e-mail that it autmotically move it to the C2 folder. You'll then be able to read it at any set that in the house that is set up with Code 2.

As much as it pains me to say this, take a look at Google Calendars. Stay far far away from anything to do with Outlook. I think Sunbird supports Google Calendars as a backend. And yes, you can set up multiple calendars, with multiple users, all with different permissions.http://calendar.google.comZ
Thanks Mack, I logged on to Google and it looks cool too, will the Google calendar pop reminders up on the screen or will it only send an email?Nobody gets in to see the wizard...not nobody...not no how!
I use Google too. It'll send you email, SMS, and pop ups.View Image

You can coordinate multiple people with Sunbird's calendar. But I don't use that feature.
I don't use Outlook because I hate the way it handles email and attachments. I stick with Eudora, because it saves email attachments as the separate, orginal files, and puts them in a separate folder. They are easy to find and archive.
Everyone has their preferences, I just never liked Outlook, and fortunately I'm not forced by anyone to follow along.
Not since they took away curcal.
Hello gstringe,
Anyone use a calendar/reminder software program that you really like?
MS Outlook 2007 with Exchange Server, linked through the house, the remote office, remote access through the phone......does it all.......

I've found Exclaimer's unique per-user calendar booking link https://support.exclaimer.com/hc/en-gb/articles/9092472831389-How-to-configure-a-unique-per-user-calendar-booking-link feature incredibly useful. It streamlines scheduling by providing each user with a personalized link, simplifying the process for both parties involved. Plus, it integrates smoothly with existing workflows
I don't know how much of a "calendar" it is, but Asana is a good app to use for organizing stuff, events, or distribute tasks between team members. I would recommend it
I think so
