Can I lay tile on top of glue from old carpet.
My church has a project where we ripped up some old glue down carpet and we need to lay down some tile. We tried to scrape up the glue by hand, but that is pretty hard.
We have heard many opinions by not so pro tile layers. I just don’t know what the best option is. Is there a machine that will remove the glue? Chemical? Or would it be ok to lay the tile on the glue?
We laid some test tiles down and let them sit for two days. We put some on the fresh concrete and some on the glue. The tiles on the glue didn’t move when we kicked them, but they did come up notivably easier than the tiles that were laid on the fresh concrete.
What are my options?

What you need to do is rent a scarifer.
If her language will peel paint off the walls, why woudn't work for adhesive on floors as well?
