Three years ago, I replaced our old furnace(ant. gas) with a high efficiency model of the same but rating(12000). I have since remodeled and insulated the house(100 yr. old balloon framed) and am more in line for an 80000 but unit. Can I reduce the but output of each ribbon burner, should I solder 2 do the orifices shut, or God forbid replace the unit. Heating bills have not abated since the improvements, and I know efficiency decreases with higher btu. units. Help!
