When I scroll down through the messages box, then slide over to scroll down through the thread, I keep bumping that frikkin’ “options” box and if flies open like a jack in the box. Scares the crap out of me every time. Any chance of getting that moved to the other side of the message box?
Geez, almost had a heart attack this morning when that thing popped open before I had my first cup of joe.

It is pretty annoying. I wonder if anyone uses any of the options except to just test them.
I agree........Thought maybe it was just me.......
Off the subject, but do any of you subscribe to e-mail when you receive a message.....If so, how do you like it?
That "options" button is my pet peeve...one of these times I'm goin' to end up reporting myself!
Dump in or move it...who needs it!!!!
'nough said...Maybe we could report the button for being obscene!Newf

Howdy Pi,I tested the "e-mail when you receive a message" function and ended up turning it off. I think that most folks aren't bothering with the "To:" field when they're replying to messages, so the original poster ends up getting a bunch of replies that aren't to the original message. I know, a confusing explanation, but basically I got a bunch of emails that were not really directed to me or the original post.
What I find works for me better than getting a bunch of e-mails is that when you click on the My Forums button, you get a list of the forums with the number of new posts. If any of the new posts are to your messages, it'll say something like "87 new messages (3 to you)." That way, at your own leisure you can see if your posts got responses.

Rita, I assumed when I saw the "new to you" area, and could click on it, that it would then go to the msg that was addressed to me. It didn't do that. Went right to a "new" msg. Do you think that was a glitch or does it not go to one of the "new to you" msgs?
I'll take an answer from anyone on this in case rita doesn't check back.

Hi Calvin! You're right. It does just jump to a page with the new messages in the left nav and the newest of those in the right. To see the ones "To: Me," use the Show Discussions... pull-down menu to show "Unread messages To: Me." (The pull-down menu is at the top of the left nav.) That's how I found your message out of the sea of great Breaktime messages.Cheers!Rita

Thanks, Rita......I have been using it, but don't always check my e-mail that often.......
It is easy to use and I just click on the e-mail and it goes directly to the post........Pi
subscribe to e-mail when you receive a message
I think it was the default. Frankly, I don't know if I ever opened one, just deleted them and unchecked that pref. Still haven't read the welcome from Taunton either.

Ha! Well, welcome Kai! (Though you've surely been a member longer than I have.) Basically the welcome message contains your password and membername--I believe. Rita

jb,
Next time that box pops open, take advantage of it.
"Report a Violation" by telling Taunton the box is in the wrong place...or the wrong style.
If they don't move it (slim chance), why not make it a clickable, drop-down window instead of a mouse-over?
