Does Canada label rebar metrically? Would #15 rebar in Quebec mean 15mm, thus about a #5?
I am trying to interpret some foundation details done by a Mt. Tremblant archy, in which he is calling out house pier and footing rebar as #15.
I know it is not 1-7/8″ diameter bar. So what is it?

A company that sells rebar coupling gives the Canadian rebar they call 15M as 16mm or equivalent to a #5, 20M is given as the equivalent of #6 - hope that helps. Their chart is about 3/4 of the way to the end of their .pdf at:

They have a similar chart for larger rebar at:

There is also a "Canadian to U.S." conversion sheet at:
http://www.cps.gov.on.ca/english/plans/E9000/9011/M-9011L.pdf
gives a number of other equivalences in addition to rebar. (Rebar conversion is near the bottom.)
