   Example of a captain's bed with deep drawers and attached night stand-actually the whole room is custom cherry built-ins like a ship's cabin- that I designed/built for a guest room.
   Also notice the sail cloth closet doors.
   Hope this gives you some ideas

   thanks for the idea...its nice to see different adaptations of captains bed..and to try to incorporate those features that I like into my design..again many thanksjroy
