Ther’s an ad on the radio here for Cavender Chevy, and like everyone else they’re scrambling to keep sales up. But this is about as stupid as I’ve ever heard. The ad goes something like: “and the reason Cavender Chevy can keep their prices so low, is that they don’t pass on the price increases to the customers!” Now who the hell is going to believe that? Can you imagine a home builder eating the price increase in lumber? Maybe on a house already sold and under construction, but not on the next one.

Like the store in Anchorage that proclaims, "We cheat the other guy and pass the savings on to you!"
*this is truth in advertising! They don't pass on the price increases because right now there are no price increases. When price increases start happening again, they can change their policy.
*Maybe it's the old salesman's axiom:I lose money on every unit I sell, but I make it up in volume.
*Lisa,i I lose money on every unit I sell, but I make it up in volume. Now days it's, "I lose money on every car I sell but, make it up in the service department."Dano
*<like the store in anchorage that proclaims, "we cheat other guy and pass savings on to you!" Now there's an honest guy. Been to Anchorage. That pretty much sums up my experience with oosik stores.SHG
*There's a dealer in my area who's ad reads: "President Bush asked that we all keep the economy moving and keep spending money. We at ______ have cut new car prices and financing rates to make it easier than ever to buy a new car at ________. Help support your country when it needs it."What a load of shit, some sense of patriotism.Mike
*I'll bet that the flag they are waving over their dealership was stolen from an old folks home or a school somewhere.
*All us working class folks need to be good patroits and go out there and spend our hard earned money otherwise all the uppercrusties will have to get real jobs and find out what it means to pull thier own wieght!JMHO Mr. T.
*Probably, they sure didn't buy 'em from the deli in town that's selling 8" X 12" flags on a stick for $6, that were $0.97 Sept 10th.Y'know, we're all in business to make a living, and hopefully a good one, but these people ought to be ashamed of themselves.FWIW, I've been in the car business long enough to not be too surprised, a lot of 'em are every bad stereotype.
