I own a small renovation business in southern Ontario. I am considering changing the direction of my business to cabinet making. I have done alot of finish carpentry including trimming houses, building bars and built-ins and some small kitchen repairs. I cannot afford to take time off from my existing business to train full time with a cabinet maker. Therefore, I am looking for information on building cabinets. I am wondering if there is a standard set of guidelines to follow such as box sizes, hardware suppliers or any information that would make mey transistion a smooth one.
Thanks .

hi
i do lots of kitchen renovations i buy the cabinets its hard to compete with them making them is a specialty trade. brake into it slowly if thats what you want to do.
you would be surprised what you can do with standard boxes. by adding crown mouldings & furniture style toe kick !! look at some of the sites online for welborne yorktowne ,kratmaid etc
you can also purchase premade boxes look in the rear of fine homebuilding.you can then buy doors and frame supplys & do the finishing
Where Can u buy the boxex for the cabinets from , Thanks Harvest Builders "Build it better or get out of the way"
