My daughter also is actively seeking employment. She's four and does require naps to avoid irritability. She has other numerous salary demands but typically settles for the regular meals and slushies once in a while. In fact she works part time with the crew and duties include client relations, and resident morale booster.....gets along well with the guys in the shop. This is indeed one of the great parts of self employment. I can't imagine being able to take her to any other job. If she is able to monopolize on a natural ability to neggociate I may just have a comfortable retirement after all.
*Lisa, you've stumped me -- what is this file format? It has something to do with the Microsoft conspiracy, doesn't it?Writing on a piece of fruit -- ad

Andrew, It is supposed to be bitmap. Our Powers That Be have been purchased lock stock and barrel by Billy boy (and Coke too) so yes, it may very well be a MS problem. I honestly have no clue as to the details of how all this works. I was just trying to follow directions. The DeskScan won't save images as jpeg but only as bitmap. If I need to do something else, I sure hope someone will tell me.

"powers that be" -- you mean God?
I'm sure i could decode it if I spent a minute on it -- but support free speech, use jpeg!

No, other direction. I mean the Chancellor and university administration. Oops, I guess there goes my next raise (Raise, what raise, HAHAHHAHAHAH).
*Lets see if this works any better. Comments welcome.
*And also this...

Very cute!
That a clothes iron in her hand? (Just kidding.)
*Lisa,When can she report? Does she have a tool belt? StevePS, All of the links, including the first, worked for me.
*Wow! I'd be more than happy to have her on my crew! And if I have any problems with recalcitrant homeowners, I can use her to collect. They'd just melt when she bats those baby blues.
*Sooooo, That's the famous Arkytek!!! Does she get her pidgeon toes from her father??
*
Where do you live? Where did I put that bus schedule? Tool belt coming right up.
*Yup! Can't tell I'm completely wrapped around her finger, can you. :-) Though you can't tell from that sweet little face, her favorite movie is "Jurrasic Park" followed closely by "Godzilla". I think sometimes she could teach a thing or three about devilment to Pete,Jr. She gets it from me of course ;-)PS she was born the day before Mother's Day, AND on my mothers birthday. Figure I made up for my childhood with that little trick. Oh yes, I was at the top of a ladder painting a ceiling when I went into labor...
*Battery operated jig saw. Makes this hideous sound and she likes to use it when we are trying to watch the news. Subtle, she ain't. Actually, I hope she likes ironing, then she can do mine. Besides, an iron really is a hell of a weapon, heavy, hot, and with the steam on...Don't you have one about this age??

Hi Lisa,
I think there's hope in the next generation.
My grandaughter will work for room and board.

*When I used to take my small children with me, shopping for construction materials, I would often be greeted with "I see you have your helper with you today." My standard response was "He's the boss. I do all the work, he gets the benefits."
*Yep. a very active 3 y.o. Available for shipment on a momemnt's notice. Actually, I think he is naturally drawn to tools. I bought him 5 lbs. of 1/2" washers and he is in heaven.
*Saturday at the lumberyard, every other guy has a toddler in tow. Pretty funny. You know how much they like to wait in line.
*Lisa,You and Lawrence are lucky folks. Beautiful kid.But Lowe's? C'mon, get her a Hank's Hardware apron. She'll be infinately cuter. Dan
*I have a young son that's always wanting to "help", and it can be quite humorous. I took him along one time when I was helping frame a pole barn. He drove 2 nails, and ate 4 donuts. His help was so expensive, he wasn't invited back. (He was about 5 at this point)He tagged along once when I took our vacuum cleaner down to my workshop to put a new belt on it. As I set it up on the workbench, he said: "Hey Dad, are we gonna tweak it up a bit?" (He's a big fan of Tim Taylor)He has his own set of tools, probably more than I had when I was 20. He often takes them out and admires them, or talks about what he could do with them. But, like a politician, he doesn't actually get much accomplished. But he sure is a lot of fun.
*My 3 y.o. thinks that repetitive tasks like sweeping are just wonderful. he is actually almost helpful now, which means the work he does slightly outweighs the work he creates. He comes up and says, "daddy, I want to work!" Wonder how long this will last? I hear from more experienced parents that it's a crap shoot whether they'll be interested in the same things that you are. But it's fun just to live for the moment.
*One thing I forgot - If ya have a cute kid, take them everywhere you go to buy stuff. A lot of the clerks will tell you how cute they are and give them free stuff.
