I’ve read the last few threads on soundproofing rooms sideways, and have been thinking of my own projects and properties. I’m trying to get half a step up on this issue.
Does the thickness of the carpet and or padding have any significant impact on reduction of noise/vibration say between a second floor and a first floor?
On one project in particular, there’s too much vibration between floors and I foresee this as a problem. One salesman told me that their good 1/2″ padding would be better from that perspective.
Any comments? Any good sites where I can do some reading to get schooled up some? Thanks in advance.

Also a google on -sound control floor impact - will probably get you some info.
Bill - Many many thanks. I need to go through the whole site later including the specs, but it looks like that 440 Sound Barrier will help a lot in one area that needs new flooring.
