I’ve just come home from a friends house who lost the radiators in her duplex rental last winter. A plumber came and just gave her a price for all new baseboard and new boiler. The boiler is still operable. It seems that he didn’t offer any alternatives and I had a thought. What if you used cast iron basebd that would work with the existing boiler? It seems this would be cost efficient in the saving of the big ticket item (ie – the boiler) and save labor on running supply and return lines. I’ve seen these radiators advertised and have heard that they are more expensive. I’m looking for feedback on cost, availability and effectiveness to get back to this person on. I appreciate any input!
