what kind of caulk do the people of breaktime prefer?
I’ve used GE in the past and was very happy with it. However, today I tried Benjamin Moores brand and seemed equally satisfied. Is there a brand you swear by?

You're gonna have to be a bit more specific here. There are many different types of caulk for many different situations. Are you talking about 100% silicone, (shower doors, glass block) Or latex, (paint-grade stuff) or urethane, (anything exterior that has to be waterproof and last forever) ?
We all have our own favorite brands within these and many other catagories.
So.......... What type are you talking about? and what are you caulking with it?
I'm mostly curious about the paintable caulk.....caulk for siding, doors, windows that type of stuff...I've used plenty of the silconized and the acrylic but haven't tried the polyurethane yet.
If it's latex you are talking about, then my personal favorite brand is OSI, It seems to be the best as far as lasting and staying flexible. But if you are doing siding and doors 'n stuff you really ought to use urethane. It will stay weatherproof and last pretty much longer than whatever you are caulking. My favorite brand of urethane is NP-1 It comes in a wide variety of colors and is also quite paintable." If I were a carpenter"
Speaking of polyurethane caulk, anyone have trouble with DAP brand being so stiff you can hardly squeeze it out of the tube? Or did my local hardware store sell me old tubes. I had to use both hands to sqeeze the trigger on the caulk gun. Maybe need to eat Wheaties for breakfast!
I know DAP's Clear Flexible Sealant is hard as heck to squeeze out. You have to really make an effort.
I like the PL products for exterior work. For interior I could get by with Dap's Kwik-Seal Plus.
I swear by Mulco. They make a wide variety of different caulking, roofing pitch, bedding compounds, etc., all of the highest quality.

vulkem is great. PL isn't bad either. but those are difficult to tool. I never use painter's caulk (even the siliconized latex) outside if I can use a polyurethane.
