Has anyone used the product Cedar Breather under a shake roof? We put down lots of cedar roofs and currently use lathe over plywood decking.

Yep, used it, wouldn't do another Cedar roof without it, or lath. But I think that the Cedar breather is superior to lath or furring (but not skipped sheathing, but who's going to do that anymore)
Jscott:
We use an F5 copper dripedge installed with a 1/2" temporary spacer to create the opening on the eaves and rakes.
You can terminate it at the ridge by folding it back down over the shingles, install an ice and water membrane over it and cap it with a ridge board, or shingle ridge cap.
You can also use Ben Obdyukes Cedar Roll Vent wich gives more ventilation but a higher profile. Haven't used the Roll vent yet, and I don't know if its baffeled (like my favorite ridge vent---Shingle Vent II), so I can't recommend or damn it.
What have you been doing, 1x3 furring OVER 30# felt at the same centers as your exposure ? Or something else ?
