We’re in the process of building new on the central alaska coast and plan to use cedar shingles for the siding. This means wet, as in really wet and often windy. What I’m looking for is any information on a semi-transparent finish that will hold up and not turn black in a couple years. I’ve been all over the web and everyone touts their product as the best, I need real information. Don’t suggest a moving company, for some reason we like it here. thanks.

Have you talked to SBS about it? I believe they have something specifically for AK weather conditions. Behr Moosehide I think. I'll talk to our painter tomorrow and see what he sayes.
Central coast? Is that around Dilingham somewhere?
