I am building a house on the Oregon coast and my contractor typically uses Tyvek as a moisture barrier. I am hearing that Tyvek may be contibuting to mold and rot problems in high moisture areas.
If this is true, does anyone know where I can get this information from the net?
Thanks for you assistance.

The story goes that the tannins in cedar break down the Tyvek over the years so that after a while, there is no Tyvek barrier.
beyond that, Tyvek is better as an air barrier, Tarpaper is better as a moisture barrier.
You could check on Rainslicker or GreenGaurd
