Our Cedar siding is way past needing new stain. For the most part it looks as tho a good brushing is all it will need for prep. But on the south side where it has baked in the summer and winter sun, the first six or seven courses are pretty rough. Not to the point where they are actually falling apart and eaten thru with rot, but pretty bad. Is there any sort of fix up for this or should I just rip them off and replace them?

Pictures would help.
I don't think stapling pictures over the siding will last through the winter.LOLMaybe he can post a wave format sound fill of knuckle thump testing too.actually photo would help possibly, but based on description, I think replacing is the way to go.
