I’m about to repaint the interior of my home and of course have the forever fine line cracks that appear in the ceilings etc. over time. I’m wondering if anyone has a special treatment or recommendations for repairing these cracks?
Any new products out there for this purpose?
Many thanks…………..Jim

First question would be: Where are the cracks, specifically?
Second question: Plaster or drywall?
Thanks for the response Dan. The cracks are in the ceiling. Mainly in the living room ceiling of a two story home. It is done in drywall.

In the middle of the ceiling, or along the edges? Along obvious seams in the drywall? I assume the living room is not the top floor?

I actually have both along the edges as well as some more centred.
This is a ground floor room.
Thanks again ............Jim
These cracks don't sound to be due to "truss uplift", so probably it's just poor taping, possibly combined with excessive humidity in the house. After assuring that the problem can't possibly be due to a slow leak overhead, about all that can be done is to remove the existing tape, scrape away most of the old mud, and re-tape.
