I know this is a dumb question, though I’ve been told no question is dumb:
We have two ceiling fans in our house which have switches to control the air flowing down, obviously for the summer and the other for pulling up the air to the ceiling. As we have forced electric air with vents in the ceiling, which setting should I use to help circulate the heat???? Thanks for your future help

Pull the air up. That way the air flows down the walls and balances the ambient temperture. Also moves the heat off of the cieling a little mor uniformly.

Thanks for the good info. Will take care of both fans tomorrow.

For the winter setting, should the fan spin clockwise or counter-clockwise?
TIA.
Spins so the air is lifted toward the ceiling at the slowest setting possible.
The warm air then moves across the ceiling and down the walls.
If you feel a breeze in the center of the room that is giving you a coolling effect.
As you are looking up at the fan, for most fans but not all, the fan should be turning counter clock wise.

In theory that works, but my feet freeze. I opt out for that, I just turn em off. hehehehe"Whiskey for my men, and beer for my horses"Willy Nelson and Toby Keith
If your feet freeze when the fans are circulating the hot air, maybe you should wear socks and shoes.
