Is there any salvage value to old chain link fencing?
Try to sell it somewhere or just list it on Craig’s List, free to haul away?

I didn't think it costs $5 a foot when NEW. Unless it is 10 feet high.

Except when I'm not.
Does that offer include removal? :o)
I'm just trying to feel around what I'm going to do on replacing my wooden fence. My neighbors on two of the sides have a chain link next to mine. I have all kinds of saplings and what nots growing between the two fences.
Both of them have said, yah take the fence out when you do your replacement. Gotta do something, tired of cutting that stuff down every year.....
But if you want it, i'll let you know when it comes down....

I applaud your efforts to get rid of chain link fence, that is, unless you intend to replace it with white vinyl.
you just picked on my 2 favorites.
chain link, not pretty ,but will last 50 yrs.
white vinyl, don't have any real defense except it isn't 1/2 thick cedar that needs replacing every 10 years.
the older i get ,
the more people tick me off
Somebody told me that new chain link is illegal in Overland Park but I'm sure that's bull but it wouldn't surprise me here in Beigeville.Lefty-This tagline removed due to the prevelance of the humor impaired.
Naw...I'm gonna replace it with wood, but....going to follwo the Piffmeisters advice and set the posts in gravel and not concrete, it will provide drainage...
Don't know how old this one is, but all of the posts rotted off right when the post goes into the concrete....
I'll wait until cedar pickets go on sale and buy a truckload, sometimes they go for 1.79 on sale. Neighbor did his in PT pine and the gap is about an inch after they dried. His wife looks good in a bikini but I had to stop peeing in the back yard.
I don't like white either. Turns yellow if you have a boy dog, don't ask me how I know.....Lefty-This tagline removed due to the prevelance of the humor impaired.
