Lindal Cedar Homes has a nice catalog for ideas, but they're a bit pricey to build. ( I've built a few, too many middle men.) I'm designing a chalet at the moment and I get inspiration from leafing through their excellent catalog.
*Dale,I found plenty of useful plans in some of those Log Home magazines that are available at your local newstand/bookstore. My local Safeway grocery store usually has 3 or 4 different log home magazines on the shelf. These log home magazines are mostly used as a sales tool for the hundreds of log home builders around the country, however, they offer a great selection of floor plans that you can get ideas from. I found one plan in one of the magazines that I modified slightly for my chalet style cabin in Alpine, Arizona. It's a 3BR/2BA, 1400 s/f, chalet style. 24 x 40 foot, one and a half story. Check out my home page for a pic. I am in the finishing stages right now. Good luck!
