Is there a tool or does this have to be done via cad mode?
I want to work up the complete details of an outdoor fireplace on one lower level and a BBQ grill on the other side within the same stack on a 6′ higher level.

you could go to Chief User's group and ask.. someone there has probably already done it
Since you just hit the most recent Chief Training, what about ICF's?
I don't see any choices for foundation walls made out of ICF's. Have you used these or recall any discussions of how to incorporate them in your details?
Couldn't you just add a new wall "style"? ie. Set your layers to be polystyrene, concrete, polystyrene with the corresponding thicknesses.
I don't use Chief, but if I did, I would also be a Sketchup user, just to do things like this that Chief might not address.
