I am looking for children’s safety glasses for my 3 year old daughter. She loves to be “daddy’s little helper”, and I am conserned about her eyes. I got something in my eye 4-5 years ago, and ever since, I wear them constantly. They may look goofy, Nut I know I will be able to see. I am trying to instil upon her a safe work environment, and she currently wears a pair of Uvex Patriots (the same as me) , but she has to hold them up with one hand…….Has anyone ever seen smaller glasses made for kids????? If I can find them, I would buy the whole case just to know that I had them. Please post response, or email me directly (av3fire@aol.com)
Thanx Trevor

I couldn't find safety glasses for my 5 year old. There are sun glasses for kids. I think they are better than nothing.
Check http://www.polycarb.org, some information are useful.

I took a standard pair of adult glasses and "remodeled" them with the aid of a propane torch. I heated up the arms and did a double bend, in and back out, to bring the arms and ear hooks in closer, but still parallel to each other.
I did a pair for each of my kids, back then they were 3 and 5. Another option would be adjusting goggles or a facemask, but they could be a bit unwieldy for a 3 year-old.
*Sporting goods stores have kids raquetball/squash glasses that should work just fine.Beatrix
*Loop a rubber band around the two arms of the UVEX patriots and and around the back of the head and they work OK. I like the squash glasses idea, I'll have to check it out.My two year old son wanted to wear my glasses (the patriots) the other day to "fix my stuff" with and old claw hammer. I got him to settle for two stubby screwdrivers instead. I figure the puncture wounds would at least be shallow ones. He's currently helping mom build an oak stool. He put all the scrap wood pieces from the shop into a bin, I didn't think there were that many scrap pieces kicking around! Last night he started the very fun, messy and unrewarding task of cleaning the drift of sawdust out of the table saw cabinet. For convenience sake, he piled it on the trying-to-sleep dog!But I digress.-Rob

Try either Garret Wade or Lee Valley tools for your kid's safety equipment. I found a pair of goggles, an adjustable band face mask and ear muffs sized for kids in one of these catalogs. I'm pretty sure that they both have online catalogs to shop from.

I've also looked for kids safety glasses, with no luck. The best substitute I've found is swim goggles.

I have bought small size safety glasses, respirators, and earplugs for my 10 year old through both Lab Safety Supply (labsafety.com) and US Safety (they have a web site, but I don't know it). Both of these places have a very large selection of safety gear. The small Uvex glasses with a croakies or other tieback was a good solution for my son. The earpieces slide in and out to adjust for size. They are also treated for nofog, not perfect, but it does cut down on most of it.
*Thanks for the tips. I'm not a kid but I'm not a man either. And since all this stuff is made for men, those damn glasses are always falling of
