I have a deck made of 1 1/2 year old Choice Deck. Mildew has become a chronic problem. I contacted A.E.R.T (they own the patent) and they suggested using an olympic product. Previously I used outdoor clorox full strength and the mildew was back in a week. The olympic product held it off for 3 weeks. I again contacted A.E.R.T and they said a rep would call me. No one did, and then A.E.R.T would not return my calls. I complained to Lowes, and they spoke with Weyerhaeuser and I have a rep coming tommorow to take pictures. Ironically my father has the same problem with his. For the record I am in Greenville, SC.
With this information in mind, does anyone have a suggestion for a cleaning product that will prevent recurring mildew?
Also, has anyone else had to go through this and what was the outcome?
Any input would be greatly appreciated

i was working on a job in massachusetts recently and i saw a back deck made of choice deck and it was also covered with mold everywhere, It`s really a shame when people spend their hard earned money to get the best product they possibly can and then have mold grow all over it.As much as i love trex the same thing happens to it also so be advised
Does Choice Deck advertise itself as mildew resistant? Mildew will grow anywhere that conditions are right including on a piece of glass. Where is your deck? If it's on the north side of your house, under trees or near water mildew will always be a problem no matter what kind of deck you have. I know of no products that you can apply that will prevent mildew for more than a few weeks. My dock is black with mildew and stays that way. I tried for years to keep it clean and finally gave it up as a lost cause. The black grows on you after awhile........
