Does anyone here know of an effective (and hopefully fast) way to clean drywall dust off roughsawn timber? Shopvac and a lot of water? Carpet cleaning machine?
Thanks in advance

set up a dust collection box ( fan with filters - purchase at any wood working store) and put the narrow nozzle on your shop vac, then put the hose on the blower port instead of the intake port. That jet of air will make it cloudy in there with all the dust. The air scrubber will have eighty percent of it in a half hour. Then do it all again.
ignore this if it is a lived in home

I've heard that water will just make a big mess, but others here say it works. I guess I'd try a very small area first to see if it works before dousing a large area!
Shopvac make a special paper filter that significantly reduces blown-through dust, for their devices. Great if you're indoors. Outside? compressed air. wear a mask.
cheers

I's suggest a Shopvac with a HEPA filter (just shake it out when its clogged), and on the suction end attach a brush. Regular home vacume cleaners have this attachment.
And no, I have not tested this particular combination to see if it does the job I think it might.

Thanks for the replies... I'll try the brush/hepa filter combo first since it's the least messy, then work my way up to water. I'll let you know how it all works out
