Cleaning paint off an interior chimney
My customer is making a media room, and part of my quote is to remove paint (not sure if latex or oil) from the chimney base & expose the brick.
He specifically mentioned sandblasting, but I checked the old posts and it seems the consensus is to use paint remover.
Has anyone done this work before? I’m dubious about sanblasting the brick & mortar, I’d rather use a good paint remover.
Suggestions anyone?

Not sure if I can talk to you with game 7 coming up and all..
But search the archives there was a discussion about a guy that started to strip paint off the brick walls in his kitchen not to long ago..
I've stripped paint off a fire place before, not fun, lots of ventilation and a good respirator are a must. how ever long you think it will take, triple it, never did get all the paint out of the little nooks and cracks in the brick. Sand blasting wasn't an option for me so I don't know how it would work
By the way did I mention the job sucked?
Wow, found it the first time

Yea, I read all those posts. Thanks for reminders, though.
Problem is, HO & DW plus 2 kids 19 mo. old & 2 mo. will be in the house.
I just can't see an easy way out.
Game 7.
You know, there is no justice.
At 7:40pm, I need to be in synagogue for the start of the last 2 days of passover. Usually, I would just stay in my bedroom with the radio (see previous posts in "...race") but I CAN'T!
